Frembu Poultry Farm breeds, hatches, rears, processes and feeds — a single Kenyan-owned chain that supplies eggs, chicken and animal feed to hotels, retailers and households across the country.
One chain, five stages
Most poultry brands buy in from somewhere along this chain. Frembu owns the whole thing — which is what lets us control quality from the grandparent bird to the finished product.
Parents
One-day-old grandparents are raised to produce ready-to-hatch eggs. At 24 weeks, birds go through a two-stage selection to pass only the highest quality on to the hatchery.
Hatcheries
Ready-to-hatch eggs become day-old broiler chicks, sold to market or supplied internally. Every batch is Ministry of Agriculture certified and vaccinated at birth.
Broilers & Layers
Day-old broilers are raised for market or transferred in-house for processing. Our layer houses in Wangige hold 15,000 birds each, producing eggs at scale.
Processing
Certified facilities slaughter and prepare broilers for business-to-business and retail sale — chilled and frozen chicken products that meet market-leading standards.
Feed
Our subsidiary ESGC produces pellet and mash poultry feed with no animal ingredients, supplying the rest of Frembu and sold business-to-business.
Started as a backyard broiler business — grown one flock at a time.
What began as a broiler chicken farm has grown into a full-service operation, and due to demand, we've expanded into free-range kienyeji chickens. The birds move outdoors, get natural sunlight, and are never pushed to grow faster than their natural cycle — which means healthier birds that appeal to health-conscious buyers.
